Having color visual standards is a critcial component to your standardization phase of 5S. Without these standard colors, your workers are faced with choosing whatever color tape, aisle marker or signal they happen to find lying around. Moreover, the place simply doesnt look organized in the least. So, help them, help you by putting some standards in place.

Some examples are:

yellow for inventory

green for kanban

blue for tools and equipment

If you do have visual standards, what are they? Tell us.

Best wishes,

Dave Visco
