Curious as to what type of red tags you prefer to use. Those with wires or an adhesive backing similar to a post it note.

Thanks for your responses

We make our own and used adhesive ones.  Works out to .0054 cents per tag so we save a great deal vs. buying.

A first version of these thermal printed tags,Nice thing with these is we have them on rolls of 500 and placed at "5S boards" on a toilet paper holder. They are always with in reach in key areas, with other 5S tools/identifiers.

The vast majority of red tags are used on corrugated boxes of product.  Other items that we don't want an adhesive mark on we just use a small piece of red vinyl tape on the item and stick the red tag to that.

Machinery has maintenance wired tags (yellow and red) that we use with a different workflow.

That's great Robert. Being able to easily print your own and have them within easy access for the staff must work well.

Thanks for sharing

5S Best Practices

Hi Robert - do you folks have a dedicated Red Tag area? If so, I'd like to see a picture of it. We're looking for a new Red Tag Area image for a 5S Training document we're providing members.

Thanks

I saw your call out to this earlier; however, our red tag area is simply a 6x8' area marked out with red tape on the floor.  No boards or signs.  The items tagged are dealt with on a daily bases.  Last I was there it was empty!  Sooo no gain for a photo.
