Bimbo Bakeries USA is the leading manufacturer of baked goods in the U.S. with many popular brands such as Thomas English Muffins, Arnolds and Brownberry Breads, Entenmanns and Boboli. At this “state of the art” facility, see the lean principles applied in a continuous flow environment. The site has been driving their overall improvement process by focusing on High Performance Work Teams (HPWS) with integrated process management and Six Sigma.
The Elkhart facility has undertaken key initiatives to improve overall quality and efficiency. This “time sensitive” product has forced Bimbo to focus on the entire order fulfillment cycle and compress lead times throughout every step of the process.
Lean techniques and the HPWS Culture were implemented as part of the overall facility design and continue to be improved upon through an integrated team approach. Participants will view these techniques in place on the shop floor and will get “lessons learned” from the site’s Leadership Team.
Key Lean techniques include:
High Performance Work System
Continuous Flow Production
Quality System, Integrated Process Management
This is a great opportunity to benchmark techniques and carry ideas back to your own operation to accelerate your implementation of cost reduction initiatives.
Who Should Attend
Business leaders – VP & Directors of Manufacturing, Plant Managers, CI managers, and functional leaders will all benefit from this lean learning event. The lessons learned in the manufacturing community about the power of lean to transform process execution, performance, and results most definitely apply across all manufacturing platforms.
